Profile of a committed community business leader
In the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, everyone agrees that Jean Pelchat is both a born entrepreneur and an excellent communicator. After having graduated with his Master’s degree in business administration more than 20 years ago, he immediately plunged into the business world where he became a shareholder and co-owner of various businesses in the retail food sector of which more than 12 years have been spent in the Magog region.
In 2005, as he sought new challenges, Jean Pelchat founded CorpoSana Capital. This company manages two limited partnership venture capital funds: FIER Innovation Durable s.e.c. and FIER Croissance Durable s.e.c., which offer financial help and advisory services to socially responsible companies operating in the clean technology, renewable energy and environmental services sectors.
His undeniable flair and management vision, both innovative and rigorous, have led him to sit on several boards of directors of private and public entities including Corporation Capital SEP (2006 – 2009), National Bank Business Development (1994 2001), the Quebec association of retail grocers (president 1994 – 2004) and the Club des Entrepreneurs de l’Estrie (since 1992).
